The Google Calendar service reported a major bug.
For some users, Events on embedded Google calendars are shifted to the first open day at the beginning of the week.
This is only happening on the Month View. Google is aware of the problem and developers are working to
correct it. As soon as it is corrected on the Google side, the calendar should work again.

Updates:
-
12/01/2010:
Google has scheduled deployment of the fix for Monday, December 6, 2010. Once the calendar
appears to be working, the temporary placeholder events will be removed.
-
WORKAROUND:
Switch to the Agenda View by clicking on the Agenda tab. This will list all the upcoming events.
Other Issues:

3rd Party Dependency Issues -- Our dependency on a
3rd party service for our calendar (Google Calendar) means some calendar issues are out of our control. There
are limitations to the calendar; however, some of these can be addressed.
Open issues include:
-
Cannot view entire event title on Month View:
The event entry on the calendar does not wrap in the date box (Month View). This is a limitation of
Google's Calendar service.
-
WORKAROUND:
Select "Full Page Calendar" from the Quick Help menu to view a larger-sized calendar. This does not
eliminate the problem; however, more of the event title can be viewed.
-
Calendar loads slowly:
As a 3rd party service, the Google Calendar is being called by the web page. The Google
service has to respond with the calendar data in real-time. The speed depends on several
factors including, but not limited to, Google service speed, client local network traffic and
speed, and the client computer and browser speed.
-
WORKAROUND:
Please be patient, it should only take a few moments to load.
If, however, the calendar does not load after 30 seconds, try reloading/refreshing the
page using your browser Reload/Refresh button or reselect the menu item from the
website menu.
-
Calendar look and feel cannot be changed:
The ability to change the colors, layout, etc. of a Google Calendar is extremely limited.
-
WORKAROUND:
Nothing at this time. We are looking into an add-on product that will allow us to modify the output of
the Google Calendar we embed on our website.
The Webmaster is working towards a better calendar solution. If you have
suggestions for new features or enhancements, please contact the Webmaster, Kerrie Hurford.
