Maplewood Community Music

Swing Town is Maplewood's own 20-piece big band under the direction of Ben Williams. The band has an extensive library, ranging from classic swing charts to modern jazz masterpieces. The group rehearses twice a month at the Maplewood's DeHart Community Center and performs several times a year at various venues throughout the area. Part of the group's mission is to bring this great music to the residents of Maplewood and surrounding towns. To this end, Swing Town performs free concerts in the winter and summer as part of Maplewood Community Music's seasonal concert offerings. Occasional jobs in night spots and at benefits for local charitable organizations fill out the band's schedule.
